Since 2026, infrastructure investment across Southeast Asia has continued to create demand for high-performance concrete materials. Highway, port and affordable housing projects in Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia have increased the need for concrete admixtures that can remain stable during long-distance transportation and under challenging site conditions.

MIKUR Advanced Materials is supplying powder polycarboxylate superplasticizers for overseas customers in the region. The powder format offers practical advantages for international logistics, storage and job-site handling, while allowing the product to be tailored to local cement, aggregates and construction conditions.

Why Powder Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer Fits Southeast Asian Projects

For infrastructure projects involving cross-border transportation, the physical form of a concrete admixture can have a direct impact on logistics.

Powder PCE provides a compact form for transportation. According to the project information, one tonne of powder polycarboxylate superplasticizer contains an effective component equivalent to approximately 3–5 tonnes of liquid products. Standard bag packaging can also avoid the need for large liquid containers. The reported project logistics data indicate that container loading capacity can increase by about 40%, while logistics costs can be reduced by more than 60%.

Storage stability is another consideration. The powder product has a reported shelf life of up to 12 months and is not affected by freezing in the same way as liquid products. This makes it suitable for overseas projects where products may need to be stored before use.

Powder PCE can also be convenient for dry-mix applications. It can be incorporated directly into dry mortar formulations, helping reduce dilution and on-site mixing steps.

Product Solutions for Local Climate and Materials

MIKUR focuses on spray-drying technology and formulation control for powder polycarboxylate superplasticizers. The products described in the project materials have a typical dosage range of 0.15%–0.3% and a reported water-reduction rate of 25%–35%.

Because cement, sand and aggregate characteristics vary between regions, MIKUR works with customers to match product performance to local materials and project requirements.

For customers in Southeast Asia, MIKUR has developed customized powder PCE solutions. A controlled-release powder polycarboxylate superplasticizer is designed for hot and humid conditions and can maintain concrete slump for up to two hours under the stated application conditions. An anti-mud product is also available for applications involving local river sand with relatively high mud content.

Application in a Vietnam Affordable Housing Project

In a Hanoi affordable housing project, the project laboratory recommended a cement dosage of up to 510 kg/m³ for C30 concrete. Excessive cement content can increase heat of hydration and shrinkage and may raise the risk of cracking.

MIKUR developed and produced a targeted high-performance polycarboxylate admixture system for the project. At an admixture dosage of approximately 4 kg/m³, the project was able to reduce the use of M400 (32.5) cement from the stated 510 kg/m³ guidance level to approximately 360 kg/m³.

The adjustment helped reduce concrete material costs while improving the consistency and reliability of concrete performance.

Building Long-Term Technical Partnerships

MIKUR also works with local ready-mix concrete plants through technical communication and comparative testing. The project team provided cost and performance comparisons between concrete produced with and without high-performance admixtures, helping local technical and management teams evaluate the practical value of PCE technology.

The reported results have supported the use of MIKUR high-performance concrete admixtures by leading local concrete companies in Vietnam and provide a foundation for further cooperation in the Southeast Asian market.

Supporting Global Concrete Construction

Southeast Asian infrastructure projects can involve long transportation distances, high temperatures, variable raw materials and demanding construction schedules. Selecting the right Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer therefore requires more than a single performance indicator.

MIKUR Advanced Materials develops customized PCE solutions according to regional materials, climate and application requirements. The company focuses on product consistency, technical support and international supply to help customers improve concrete performance and material efficiency.

From powder PCE for easier international logistics to customized admixture systems for local concrete materials, MIKUR continues to support infrastructure construction in Southeast Asia with high-performance concrete admixture solutions.
