MIKUR Advanced Materials has completed the production, container loading and export of a shipment of high-performance Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer to Africa. After ocean freight and subsequent inland transportation, the products arrived safely at the local infrastructure construction site for unloading and delivery.
The shipment marks another step in MIKUR’s development of the African market and demonstrates the company’s ability to coordinate product quality, export preparation and overseas delivery for international construction customers.
High-Performance PCE for African Concrete Applications
Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer, also known as PCE Superplasticizer, is widely used as a high-performance concrete admixture. By dispersing cement particles, PCE can improve concrete flowability and workability while reducing mixing water.
Depending on the concrete mix design, appropriate use of PCE can support strength development and durability while improving construction performance.
For infrastructure projects in hot regions of Africa, concrete may require extended transportation from a batching plant to the job site. Slump retention and temperature adaptability can therefore be important factors when selecting a Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer.

Quality Control from Production to Container Loading
For an export concrete admixture, quality control does not end with laboratory testing. Production, packaging, storage, container loading and transportation all contribute to final product quality.
For this shipment, MIKUR followed its export product management procedures from production through finished-product packaging, storage and container loading.
Raw materials and production processes were controlled during manufacturing. After production, the products underwent the required quality checks to confirm that their performance met the project requirements.
Packaging and storage were also organized according to the requirements of long-distance transportation and overseas storage.
Efficient Container Loading and International Logistics
An international shipment of concrete admixtures involves multiple stages, including manufacturing, packaging, customs documentation, ocean freight, customs clearance and inland transportation.
MIKUR prepared the products and export documents in advance and coordinated warehousing, logistics and customs procedures to support on-time shipment.
During container loading, the bagged PCE products were arranged according to export transportation requirements. Space inside the containers was used efficiently, while cargo securing and protection measures were implemented for the long ocean voyage.
Two Containers Delivered to the African Project Site
The two containers of high-performance Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer were scheduled for shipment in early May. After arriving at an African port, the cargo was transported overland by long-distance trucks and delivered directly to the infrastructure construction site.
At the site, workers used safety helmets and reflective vests during unloading. The bagged PCE products were neatly arranged on pallets, and a JCB telescopic forklift was used to support the unloading operation.
The cargo was safely unloaded and placed into storage, completing the delivery from the MIKUR factory to the African construction site.
Selecting the Right PCE for Different Projects
Cement, aggregates, mineral admixtures and construction conditions vary between regions. As a result, the same PCE product may perform differently in different concrete mix designs.
